Fished Hayward with some of the BAWS guys last night from 5-9:30ish. We all caught fish. Baits included jigs, drop shots, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and spittin' plugs. Fish were deep until dark, then they moved up shallow. Heard some nice blow ups but the topwater bite was best around dusk. Not fun finding your way back through that channel at night. Biggest fish of the night was just over 4 lbs. Average fish was 1.50 lbs.

Nice job catching them at Hayward.

I've only fished there a few times, but it was much better fishing before they sprayed and killed all the weeds on the big flat on the northern side of the lake.

Nice job,...I've only been there once and I recall that I really struggled for just a few dinks (although that was mid-day under blue skies)!

Best thing about Hayward is the fact that there are no jet skies or pleasure boaters out there.

There is not better fishing than night fishing in the summer. Not only that, but there's something about catching fish in the dark that adds something to it . . .
