First off I think you should def fish the tourney. It sounds like its going to be a fun one. If you have never tourney fished you need to try it. It doesnt compare to fun fishing at all. Take advantage of going out with a different angler you will learn something. As far as baits go I dont have a clue only fish there once. I would say stick with finesse tactics. It is a fairly clear lake with both brown and green fish in it. I am sure someone who fishes the lake will chime in. Good Luck! |

Pd - We'd certainly like to have you join us! Ryan is absolutly right! You will definetly learn something from fishing with someone new! Most of the boaters I know personally and I can bet for sure youll learn something from them! And they might learn something from you too!
Gardner is an interesting lake. It has both largemouth and smallmouth in it. In the morning, topwaters are awesome (Im certainly going to be using them) and in the afternoon crankbaits, worms (senkos, ribbontails, etc) tubes and jigs are all good bets! There is some shallow water up in the back part of the lake that is good for buzzbaits and even your frogs!
There is nice deep grass also all over the lake that holds nice fish! It is one of my favorite lakes in the state to fish! I think you'll enjoy yourself!
The sign-up cutoff is tomorrow so you still have sometime to think it over but id highly suggest joining us!

I disagree Johnny, deep diving crankbaits in 120 feet of water. Don't count out the Helicopter lure, or the banjo minnow!!!! _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |
