Took the wife to be out to Bigelow Pond trying to find a less crowded spot than Mashapaug and found a nice little cove for a picnic. Of course we brought our gear and fished a little. The area had scarce pads but I tried the frog anyway and after 4 sets of casts with a surface hit I finally hooked into it. A feisty largemouth under 2lbs but a good fighter. That was all besides a large snake I think was a water moccasin and a spider I've never seen before in CT (born and raise here since 87)

We eventually got rained on a little but overall a nice day with a tough bite.

Wishing,

I hit the lake and never the pond. I think I'll have to add that to my "TO DO" list.

Be careful, most it is pretty shallow, I'm not sure about the middle though. Its a good kayak place. Lots of timber/stumps to watch out for as well as big rocks

Without pulling out the book, going by memory, I believe the lower basin is about 15 to 20 something feet deep in spots. Supports stocked trout for some time.
