Fished 7:45-1:30
Water temp was 76 to start and 78 to finish.
Cloudy/Sunny/Cloudy/Rain/Thunderstorm Approaching
Wind 0-10 mph
Started off throwing flukes per Jon's (Pski) reports. It was slow to start with only a couple of misses at my first two spots. I then got 4 near or at my next spot (2 lmb, 2 smb) and 2 lmb at the spot after that. I was concentrating on casting the fluke in 15-20' looking for suspended fish chasing alewives. That seemed to die off or the next three spots weren't productive. On my way back to the second spot I hit a lmb with the drop shot and a findbass Mino and once there I caught a short lmb on the same rig and missed one on the fluke. Back to the original spot where I picked up a smb right away by dropping the minnow down to a suspended fish on the finder and then ended the day missing one on the fluke.
Not a great trip, but not a dissapointment either. First four fish were all a little over 15" topping out at 17.5", the next three lmb were 12-13", and the last smb was 15". I probably had 10lbs for my best five. Not winning potential, but not bad either.
First LMB
First SMB
Weird Clouds North of the storm which was just South of us at the time.

Sounds like a good day of fishing in my book.
My cousin has a buddy who's parents own a large cottage on that lake (right next to a very steep cliff area) His buddy is a serious trout fishing guy and says its a pretty good all around fishing lake.
I hear its one of the more busy lakes in the summer though. I hope to check it out this fall. |

Zoom makes these baits called "fluke jr", "the fluke", and "the super fluke". I was actually using the super fluke in albino color. It is a minnow type soft jerkbait like a houdini shad, fin-s, or bass assassin. I like flukes the best because I have confidence in rigging them and making them dance just right. Check them out, usually Walmart and Dick's have them. You can't go wrong with the pearl color, they catch everything! |

Nice job,...were you catching fish that you saw on your sonar?
ps: You would have had a much better day if you had an interlocking NY on the hat instead of that B !!!! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

I concur with Mark and Ryan, last I heard those B logo'd hats are now used as urinals on most boats. LOL _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

nice catching. It seems like last year their where a ton of highland post, this is the first 1 I have seen this year. Does that lake take a while before the bite picks up?
Seems like there was a lot more post about Amos last year as well. Is that a better lake to hit at the end of the summer? I went to Amos in May and got skunked. I fished for 7 hours and didn't get a single bite. I did manage to get polish poka music on the radio so that was fun - not _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

well its easy, when you play baseball your whole life (included D1 college) you appreciate the joy of the game and like to see people having fun! Watching the yankees is like watching people at work...they all look miserable!! Add that to the fact that they started the "well jsut buy every player available to win" trend and there you have it.
And it just goes with my personality, if everyone you know is a yankee fan then it just pi$$es them off if you are a sox fan!
Ask me about being a Cowboys fan growing up in giants country
This sounds like a team tournament format to me....yankee fans vs red sox fans....most cumulative weight wins!!! _________________ Well....I guess I'm here too! |

I'm game, pull the permit, if I can make the date, I'm in.
Your a Cowboy's fan too, boy you are a glutton for punishment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is all very clear to me now, why you take losing tournaments so well, your used to following overall loosing teams, your just used to it, it is a way of life. Just kidding you know........ _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

Mark, yes, I did catch one fish on my sonar. I saw a small ball of bait with a fish around them so I dropped the drop shot straight down until it reached that same depth (yes, I see the bait drop on the finder).
I've done this a lot the past few years for suspended fish and especially fish on the bottom. "See fish, catch fish" is what I say, whether it is visually in the water or on the sonar.
Dusty, I'll join you in taking on the Yankee fans, let's set it up! I think it is funny that a bunch of guys from CT (New England) would be giving you a hard time about routing for a team in another state. Let's not get started on Jet and Giant fans in CT routing for a NJ team! Hahaha |

Aside from the team shenanigans, thanks for the reply about the baits, I think I'll have to pick some up _________________ 6.5' Penn Long Beach with a Penn 330Gti for deep sea
