took a friend out to quonnipaug this morning. fished from 5am to 9am with a leaky boat.
slow day; we used various lures but nothing for most of the day. ended up with 2 lmb that were 1-1.5lb and 1 that could have been bait. also caught my first small mouth. 2lb 6ounces on that. (they put up one hell of a fight!)
my friend had one up to the boat but it got off.

rjskeeter, welcome to the forum as I notice this is your first post. Quonnipaug is not a river but a lake located in Guilford. If your'e talking about the Connecticut River it all depends on where you live as far as where to launch. If you're located up near Windsor there is one next to the bridge, Hartford there are several launches in Hartford, Wethersfield has the Cove launch, Rocky Hill has a launch, Portland has one, Haddam Meadows has one, Salmon River has one, and if you're near the shore Old Saybrook has one underneath the bridge. Also depends on wether you want a free launch or one that has a fee. Hope this helps.
