I took yet another trip over to Crystal Lake after work. WishinIWasFishin met me out there and we fished from ~6:30-10:00pm. Water temps were around 72-73 degrees.
All in all a good night with beautiful weather and a good number of fish. We both caught a couple smallies (~1.5 lbs) and the rest were largemouth (to 2 lbs 2oz). Nothing of great size, but a lot of fun nonetheless. As with the past times I've been out, slightly deeper water seems to be the ticket - 12-18fow, although we didn't spend much time shallow.
Wishin started out with senkos but was convinced to give dropshotting (my recent confidence setup) with roboworms a try after I got up to an early 3 fish lead. |

"Care to elaborate on that." They probably stopped at the blue moon in east hartford after the fishing, lol. |

Haha ... no, not quite.
We had decided to stay a little past dark to see of the bite picked up any (which it did a little) and in the darkness and quietness of the lake....KERPLUNK SPLASH! We had heard and seen fish (probably trout) jumping and hitting the surface but this was either a trout from the jurassic period or what shorty thought were beavers. Nonetheless it was a little startling.
But you can't beat the lake...its about 10 minutes away for each of us and so far we seem to make a pretty good team of figuring them out. _________________ 6.5' Penn Long Beach with a Penn 330Gti for deep sea
