I hate that you even suggested such a thing

I would be willing to give it a try and then reevaluate this in a month.

Hello all,

In our ever lasting struggle to have a better search engine ranking as well as help reduce our bounce rates from potential new users, I would like to bring some sort of format standard to the reports. This should make the reports easier to read through and also easy to find the info that you are looking for.

My initial thought on this is that when you goto create a new fishing report, the there would be a message template where you would normally start writing and you would just fill in some blanks. There would also be areas designated for photos and your own words.

What are your thoughts on this?

Reggie

I'm on the fence, only because I think we will loose some spontaneity, originality, and humor within our reports.

On the flip side, some of us with the usual less descriptive reports, will have a tool to help them plug in more data to support their outing.

Lets try it and see how it goes.

What if we had a standard form at the bottom of the report like:

Date:
Lake:
Hrs fished:
Water Temp:
Water Clarity:
Water Depth fish were caught:
Lure type: (doesn't need to be specific like jig, soft plastics, crankbait, etc...)

Something along those lines.

Slimecoat has a point and I also like Chuck's idea about having a standard form at the bottom of the reports.

i think you could use a standard format like chuckc has posted for all the vital info but still have the angler tell the days events in his own words after all fisherman are the best story tellers lol!
