see if you guys can figure this out for me .i have a mercury 115 on my boat runs great at higher rpm. but at idle it runs rough and sometimes stalls not all the time but most of the time really starting to bug me

my jedi mind says carb rebuild(LOW SPEED JETS/FLOATS) or base timing issue.....Tough to tell from a distance though

just put new plugs in last night going for stripers in the river tomorrow will see if thats the prob. one guy at boat works said it might be an alcohol issue so he gave me some star tron to try (i said i was'nt drinking when it did it lmao ).it is carb. i was thinking a rebuild too but i will see how it goes tomorrow

just got a reply for boat works ask the tech


It sounds like you are having a fuel problem like many others now with the
new ethanol mix. 87 Octane should be fine. You don't want to run the high
grades in the engine because they have cleaners that will remove the oil
needed for lubrication on the cylinder walls. More than likely, you will
have to have a carb job done to correct the problem. You also should be
running an external high quality fuel/water separator along with fuel
conditioner year round. If there is anything we can help you with, please

if it runs crappy tomorrow i guess its time for a rebuild
