hit uncas pond from 7-8:30am and picked up 3 lmb on salamanders all shallow close to the shoreline. largest going ~3.5 lbs.
funny story on this one. i threw to a gap in a grass clump and my line went over a small branch ~3 feet off the water. when the was reeling up the salamander (to flip it off the branch) and it was half out of the water, a bass came cruising out from the weeds towards my bait...so i quickly lowered it back in the water, it took it and as it swam by i was able to jiggle the line off the branch and set the hook! luckily the bass didn't swallow the bait so i was able to release it unharmed. |

you got a kayak! wow! striper fishing with a yak sounds great! nothing like being pulled around by a fish!
let me know if you have any luck in norwich pond (just down the road from uncas). i have gone there a couple of time and haven't caught much (in size or numbers) there. it is also a little spooky as i have never seen anyone (just beavers) on the water or at the houses. |

Nice job lookn4bass. I do that every now and then when I get my tube baits stuck in an overhanging branch like you. I'll just jig it a few times in and out of the water and have had some nice strikes from below. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

I've actually been to Norwich pond a couploe of years ago with my electric before I realized it was all-motor restricted! Anyway,..I had no trouble catching 8-10" fish there on 4" senkos,..but it seemed like that's all there was! I switched over to a buzzbait at one point and I would get hit on every other cast, however they were not even big enough to get their mouth around the hook!
(I'll definitely stick to Uncas if I'm in that neck of the woods now!) _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."
