still no boat so i decided to hit a small pond with my kayak for lunch.

fished from 11:30-12:30 and picked up 4 lmb and 1 pickeral. 2 largest going ~2.5 pounds each. all but one were caught on senko's in the weeds close to shore. the other was caught on carolina rigged salamander on a drop off.

bummer about fishing in the kayak is that the fish pull you into the prime fishing spots...need to check out one of those funky looking hobie mirage drive kayaks.

Nice job lookn4bass. I was gonna suggest the same thing about those Hobie kayaks or you could go cheaper and buy an anchor. Very Happy

I have a Hobie,..but the trouble with the Mirage drive is that it only goes forward,..so it really doesn't do you any good if a fish is pulling you from the front! Rolling Eyes
I haven't had the guts to go out on the river yet,..but it sure would be fun to get towed around by a decent sized striper! Cool

Reminds me of that classic movie "the old man and the sea" about the fisherman who hooks into a giant tuna and gets towed farther out to sea. He eventually subdues the fish and ties him to the side of his little boat. Soon the sharks come around and devours the old man's fish while he's fighting them off with an oar. Great movie.
