Hey there all,

I have just moved to Milford, CT. Arrived Monday. I know there is some good fishing around here, I am on Broadway on the Sound down in Devon right now.

Someone please hit me up and show me what's the deal up here. I moved from the south east coast of VA near Norfolk and I am used to fishing Cape Hatteras in NC.

Where can I fish either from the beach/rocks or near a bridge/pier? Are there any places that I can use chest waders and get out in the water to catch some trout or drum? Where are the stripers and bluefish at that can be caught from shore.

I am here for 2 months alone while the family finishes up school, I took a job in Norwalk.

Anyone in my neighborhood feeling neighborly that would help a guy out? I have gas $ for a ride in a boat or am up for just meeting some cool people to hang out for a day or night.

thanks in advance!

Greyson

West Haven and Milford has a bunch of spots for you.You will haveto get directions to these places but I will give you the names along with a Great bait shop to follow up in for precise directions.
Somethings Fishy Bait and Tackle in West Haven 933 2002 Mike is the Owner as long as you are nice when you walk in he will gladly give you some help.

The places in Milford to fish are :
Slanted piers its the woodmont section of the Milford/west haven line. There is a concrete pier that leads out to some good fishing.

The Mouth of the river in Milford-Strap on your waders in another month and plug and spoon away. Also if you are too lazy to wade down there you can fish from the Jetty with bait. There is almost always bass and Blues down there from May thru Nov.

West Haven:If you follow along the Beach there are tons of piers and jetties to fish from.In the next month or so Bass/Blues and Weakfish will storm the beaches in west haven in front of Captains Galley restaurant.

For now those are about the best places to start hitting. There are many more areas to fish asyou get to know the area better.
Starting this month you are fishing for Striped Bass with Bluefish sprinkled in.
Check the Regulations for Flatfish,Porgy,Fluke,Blackfish,Sea Bass

Those are the basic species that you will target around here.Shoot me a PT if u need to know more

If you fish the northern end of West Haven on the new haven line bring a gun and a flaming lower case t. The canadians get restless about "their spots".

Welcome and Happy fishing....
