Went out Friday night to a couple of coves for White Perch and Stripers. Did not do so hot on the perch, did well on the Bass I got about 10 one keeper 29" 10lbs all others were 24"-27" all over 5lbs. Not bad all were caught on ultra-lite trout Gear with 4lb test. My friend Chris had about 6 one dink others over 5lbs.
2 were caught on 4" Mister Twister grubs chartruse. When it got dark went to 6" black rubber worms (not sure what kind they were) good thing Chris had them in his pack only dark color bait we had.

Nice job on the ultra light gear! Those fish are a blast to catch. Any chance you would reveal if your coves were North or South of Haddam?

I went out yesterday from Rocky Hill and my buddy caught a small schooly on a popper.

Jim just be careful - we saw full blown trees floating in the river. I only have a 15 hp motor and even that was to fast for the amount of stuff floating. Don't go fast - it is really dangerous and that water is still cold.

We caught the schooly in the mouth of Keeney cove.

Thanks Bass Addict. You're right about the trees and the debris in the river. Last year was like driving through an obstacle course with all the crap in there. I will wait a little bit more before I put my fiberglass boat in the river.

I saw some guy doing at least forty in a bass boat there yesterday and I thought to myself that is either going to kill himself or trash his boat.
