I have to agree with Johnny and some of the others. This topic is always kind of bias. If you ask a guy who owns a Chevy, "Which is better, Ford or Chevy?", you know the answer you'll get and vise-versa.

Unless you have owned many different boat brands all of the same basic set-ups, you really cant make a list of good, better, best.

I own a Stratos 201 with a 225 Yamaha. My boat is fast, is amazing in rough water and I can float her in no water. Are there some things that I wish it had? Sure. I love the layout of a Skeeter (you cant find a boat with a fishing platform as nice), I love the sped of a Stratos and a Triton (basically the same boat) and the resale value of the name "Ranger".

All in all, a $40,000 boat is what it's worth. Its all about what you want the boat to do for you. So really you cant compare. Especially if you dont have experience in many different boats.

Champion. GREAT boat for candlewood when its downright nasty.... Its a boat made for the great lakes. Id have to say ranger is a close second.
I agree with Nick,I love the ride I get in my champion and I don`t I`ll ever switch to another...Maybe a legend..

My opinion is if you are going to be fishing a lot of tournaments then comfort and stability are the two things I would most want. With that said I own a Ranger.

Hey Scott,Rangers are built well, but how can they charge $60,000 for that new 520 and it rides like crap?

The top 5 if I could ever afford one:
Triton
BassCat
Champion
Skeeter
Stratos

Rangers are good boats, but you are paying Xtra $$ just to have Ranger on the side of the boat.

I own a 2000 Pro-Craft with a 150 Merc. and have been very happy with it.
Still looks good and fishes great.

Someone earlier called Pro-Crafts a "TUB". Well my tub can outrun Rangers with 175's..Did it on the CT river. If I had my way however, I would buy a BassCat. What sharp looking boats!

But, I had to make certain sacrifices to keep it in my budget. I fortunately bought the last year they made the Pro-Crafts in Mufreesboro, TN before Bass Pro bought them. As far as I'm concerned, they might as well be Nitro's now.

There`s nothing wrong with a pro craft, they are priced right and are supposed to be a good ride

You pay more for a Ranger because of the quality/longevity/resale value. There is no better built boat top to bottom than a Ranger. Sure, some go faster and have some fancy other features but for reliablity and stability, you can't go wrong.

I have 2001 17 ft javelin with a 90 hp yamaha and I love it. It is a pretty durable and a nice ride. It was my first bass boat, so since I bought it I have slowly been adding accessories to it. Would definetly recommend the brand to someone.

Here is a Stroker doing its thing. If I ever leave New England this will be my next boat!!! We don't have anywhere to run a boat over 45. Sad

Who cares about 100 MPH....you cant have a motor over 250 in most of the major tournaments... 99% of us cant afford to pay the gas for that thing, and unless your a fool and like to throw money away that thing is a useless POS!
