Since I don't have a pro bass boat I am pretty much going looks. Assume the following: they are all the same length - 21' , money is unlimited, they all have the same motor (Yamaha VMax 200HP) plus the same trolling motor , and electronics.

Here is my opinion based on my limited knowledge.

Skeeter
Nitro
Triton
Ranger
Stratos

what is your opinion and why?

In my opinion, you can't beat a Ranger for quality. A Skeeter is going to be a little more flashy looking and go a little faster, but I'd rather have a solid ride than a few extra MPH's. Rangers are built solid and you can tell not just in the ride, but in the everyday use.

My dream boat however is a Gambler. Those things are great looking boats.

I think "The Dead Bird" has to be in the top 3.
10' jon boat
19lb thrust trolling motor
1 seat with a cushion
orange mushroom anchor

A lot has to do with personal opinion. I have a Skeeter and would not trade it for any other boat. I think that Nitro, Ranger and ProCraft are tubs and that's why they don't go as fast and may have a smoother ride than others. I've heard of problems with all boats/manufacturers, but then again, nothing in life is perfect. Personally, I don't like the layout of the compartments in the Rangers, but not all of my compartments are the greatest because of the overhanging edge design they have.

Yes, a Skeeter will have a rough ride in rough water compared to a Ranger, but the looks just can't be beat. Triton boats ride nice and I can't really complain about Stratos since I have not been in a new one. Gamblers look fast, but I don't think they are that feasible a fishing boat.

If money is not an object, you can get an iClass Skeeter and get a larger motor for a similar sized boat from just about any other manufacturer. But if you are only looking to get a 21' boat with a 200 hp motor, you are not even coming close to the capabilities of any brand boat.

The other thing to definitely consider is how close you are to a dealership for service...

Champion. GREAT boat for candlewood when its downright nasty.... Its a boat made for the great lakes. Id have to say ranger is a close second.

I has triton tr-29 w/150 and loved it.When idecided to fish the bigger trails i opted for a skeeter zx225 and still run it.I have had the boat for 7 years and it has been a solid performer and reynolds service is far and away #1 in the biz in my opinion.
Buying a boat is a personal thing,if you want a solid ride,go ranger,if want to go fast go skeeter or stratos if you want a good :budget boat: go nitro. All the boats have there good pints and bad it really depends what YOU like and what your needs are.

My opinion is if you are going to be fishing a lot of tournaments then comfort and stability are the two things I would most want. With that said I own a Ranger.

I've been fishing bass tournaments for over 18 years. And fished in almost every bass boat made. I've owned 1 Tracker,2 Stratos,1 Gambler, and now i own a Triton TR20X. and my opinion is the top 5 bass boats are.
Ranger
Triton
Skeeter
Stratos
Bass Cat
