| Does anyone know where I can buy some better Jigs? I don't really like the kind available at dick's. Im ready to try something besides strike king and boo ya. Any suggestions? I still have never caught a fish on a jig. (even with all the advice i get from this site) But this season im determined. I think i would have much more confidence in a jig if I knew what kind was working for you guys. If you don't want share.... I definitely understand..... any suggestions will be appreciated. |

| Just make your own. THis way you no what you are getting and you can create any skirt combination you want. It will also save you alot of money in the long run. Tons of sites for supplies barlows, janns, nakedbait co. Keep throwing it!!! |

TF makes some nice jigs, any way you like them.
Just went there today. To friggin bad they didnt have ANY 1/2oz heads in black, NO dark blue for my skirts, AND ....... NO black and blue trailers i ran out of !!!!!!
So here i am searching the net for atleast and hour now, with no results. Meanwhile, i got 3 3/4oz jigs ill probably never use with blue in the skirt i dont like

I use Stalker jigs with good success. The only thing is if you want a rattle you need to add it yourself.

I use Bass stalker jigs, terminator finess jigs, and Joe's jigs that can be found at Columbia sports.

Stalker jigs are good but the hooks are cheap and rust quick so make sure you keep them in a dry area of your boat and don't put one back in the box wet. I am not trying to knock them because I use them, just stating the facts.

I like the weed/swim heads. The ones ive got from TF are great for fishing heavy weeds. Never tried a football, but it looks nasty for weeds!

Chuck,
I have had that happen in the past. I keep two silica packets in my jig box to prevent it from continueing to happen. I wish they would upgrade thier hooks it would be worth the extra cost.

Thats a good idea  I will put some silica in my stalker jig box. (they have there own box due to the rust)

I am new to jig fishing also...late last year and quite a bit this year already...I know you said you are tired of Booya's but if you haven't tried thier swim n jig....

| Thanks for all the Info fellas! Ill have to try some of these. Not sure when i will be able to get out again. I just bought a house and its basically a construction site. Hopefully I will be able to try some of these jigs sooner than i think. |

I'm right there with you Basstard. I've never caught a fish using a jig. I think a lot of it has to do with how I'm fishing them.
When using jigs (and I haven't yet this year) I slowly drag it on the bottom twitching every now and then to imitate a fleeing crayfish. I've been using black and blue skirts with a black jighead and black zoom chunk to no avail. I must be doing something wrong b/c I don't think I've had a single bite using a jig.
