LOL, my son is will be 2 in May. I get the same guilt trip that is why I now leave my house at 4:30ishAM and try to be home by 9:30ish so she can't complain. My son wakes up around 8ish so if I go early and get home before 10 I don't get the nagging.
Saltwater trips are a different story - I can't get to many of those in and when I do I almost always have engine problems and thats why we were late:) _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

LOL Engine problems, that's a good one, I'l have to remember that one. I can't do the get up early and be home by 10am thing. The only time I can get out, is to have a tournament carved in stone, and that means an all day affair. It is very rare that I get out and fun fish anymore, too much other crap in life keeping me off the water, damn it.
Now I'm depressed again, what is the # of that shrink!. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

Me and basstitch are in.
We have no electronics as my boat barley floats. Shall we make this an electronic free tourny - old school? Or should we just give our 40$ entry fee and not show up. Does anyone have a portable live well I can borrow? Dam, I need a real boat:( _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

Maybe someone can help you there,..but a functional livewell is definitely required!
ps: You're always free to show up and fish with us,..regardless of whether you're entered in the tourney though! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."

It is not the boat that catches the fish.I have seen some guys in pretty crappy boats win big tournaments.
Idea for a livewell..a cooler and a big straw to blow through.. _________________ I love rippin on the river!

no doubt, I plan on wining otherwise I wouldn't enter. Electronics definitely help thought. If you care to fish without electronics like me we can make a side wager bet and when I beat you , then maybe I can afford something other than an or with a tape measure strapped to it for a depth finder:(
Nick, didn't you say something about buy a pump and dropping it into a cooler for a live well. Details please. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

Justin,
I bought the livewell filler/recirculator form dicks sporting goods. Cost my 40 dollars I believe. I use a huge cooler (about 40inches long inside diameter by 14inches wide and 14-16in deep) I fill it half way via the pump in the morning and turn on the spraybar occassionally during the day if its hot out. I add a bag of ice to the cooler in the mornign if the water is 75+ or its gonna be 90 degrees. Theres a product called rejuvenade that works well as an additive to the water as well. |

Bass addict, I have an extra 12 volt rule livewell/bilge pump, that I'm not using. You can have it if you want. Right now it has a 6 foot piece of garden hose attached to it and a wiring harness the same length.
You just need to use a good sized cooler, hook the wires up to your battery, turn on the switch, and hang the pump / hose setup over the side to fill your livewell. Then partially drain it throughout the day, and add new water as needed. You dont really need to use a spray bar unless you want to. Also as Nick said, any livewell chemical such as rejuvinade, please release me, or bass medic will help your fish stay healthy, ie no fish kills.
PM me if you want the pump. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

Bass Addict - we won out of a conoe (paddling) last year with a cooler with a battery powered airator in it and no electronics....anything is possible at mansfield.
Wish I could make it......!
P.S. Walmart sells Airators pretty cheap(they are by the fishing stuff)...alls you need is a good battery or two...we had to switch it to the second battery by the end of the day |
