Wethersfield Reservoir,
Sunday early afternoon, I took my 12-year-old son to Wethersfield Reservoir just to practice using his new bait caster he got for Christmas.
This is his first bait caster and he was doing pretty well, better than I the first time out was. We were throwing buzz baits when he caught a 2lbs LMB.
Needless to say, He does not want to use a spinner reel ever again.
Sorry no pictures, I was not expecting to catch anything. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |

Good for you son. That place gets harder and harder to catch fish, especially this time of year. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

Thanks Jim,
As if it's not bad enough that every night at dinner I keep hearing how he caught a fish and Daddy didn't.
I keep telling him I paid the fish to bite his line.. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |

I didn't think it would be possible to catch one on a buzz in 40 degree water, nice. _________________ Bite on my line. |

Well, I think it could be because of his retrieve. He was having issues with bird nesting on his reel.
Just plain luck. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |

Ok, I went back to redeam myself with my son yesterday after work.
Took the jon boat and made a few trips around the lake. Nothing.
Got my first skunk for the year. Water was rather warm 56degs.
I noticed four guys working the banks and they didn't catch anything either so I don't feel so bad.
However, I did have to hear it from my son all the way home how he still hold the largest bass record for the season so first. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |

Bass,
I put a fish finder on the jon boat and the lake isn't that deep. Mostly 3' except for a hole at 6' I found.

I used to fish this place with BassAddict until he hooked my septum with a shallow running Rapala and I had to get it surgically removed. |

A septum (Latin: something that encloses; plural Septa) is a partition separating two cavities or spaces. Examples include:
Nasal septum: the cartilage wall separating the nostrils of the human nose.Often deviated or perforated through physical injury or cocaine abuse.
Cephalopod Septa: walls between each chamber, or siphuncle, in shells of nautiloids, ammonites, and belemnites; i.e. cephalopods that retain an external shell.
The wall dividing the right side of the heart from the left side.
Fungi produce septa to partition filamentous hyphae into discrete cells.
