CTFishTalk Field Day.
What does everyone think about having a CTFishTalk Field Day?
I was thinking of getting together at a location that everyone can agree on, possible a State Park. Fish in the morning and picnic in the afternoon.
This could be a good way to get to meet everyone and make new friends. I know I must see or pass half of you on the ramp or on the water and I would never know who you are.
This way at least I know whose fish I am catching.
Your thoughts or idea’s? _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |

Skeeter Ron,
I'm game, what date did you have in mind? and where?
I can only think of a few places to do both, Haddam Meadows, Mashapaug, and maybe Mansfield Hollow.
Maybe you should see what is available with the DEP, for locations and dates, and post choices. Then see what kind of response you get. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

Sounds like a good idea. I am in as long as it doesn't conflict with my tourney schedule. |

Lake Housatonic which is part of Indian Wells State Park would work as well.
Done it many times with various groups. |

Good idea on looking at the DEP website. I'll do that.
As for Plopplop's avatars, I'm on my third avatar wife now. But Hey I've always liked even numbers
What date ( month ) does everyone think would be best? _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again.

Ok,
Haddem Meadow looks to be a good location and easy to get to. No Tourneys seem to be booked for the weekends of June 28/29 or July 12/13.
Again this is NOT a tourny just a get together to have a good day.
If everyone like this location and the dates are good I'll contact the park and see what they would say. PLEASE reply with either date that works best for you and your family.
Thanks Slimecoat for the suggestion.
Below is a link and info on Haddem Meadows State Park.

Is this going to turn into a morning tourney and afternoon lunch?
Quint and I will probably come have lunch unless we decide to fish.
I will be the guy passing out tabs of alka seltzer. _________________ The King of Long Island Sound. |

I hate to sound like a broken record but the reason why there isn't much response to anything on this website is because it's the same 15 or 20 members that constantly post and everyone else just lurks.
I tried to put a striper tourney together last year and got 10 responses. My brother PlopPlop is trying to put a couple together for this year and again the responses have been minimal.
This is just a suggestion but instead of a CTFISHTALK day why don't we all just get together for dinner and drinks somewhere? The crowd would be small enough. _________________ Ladies and gentleman take my advice.... pull down your pants and slide on the ice. |

Put this thread in the Bass Fishing section and you will drum up much more interest. That's where the cool people hang out. |
