I was thinking about purchasing a Shimano Crucial 6'8" drop shot spinning rod and thought about pairing it with either a Pflueger Supreme or Shimano Saros. Has any one had any issues with either of these reels. Thanks for any advice.

I would suggest the Shimano reel. I think a few others will back me on this.

I would go with the Shimano. I have 5 Shimano Symetre's and have no issues with them at all. I have a couple of Pfluegers a well. They are sitting on a shelf since I bought the Simano's.

My drop shot set up is a 6' 8" St. Croix TBS on a Shimano Symetre reel and it works great. Never had any problems. I just get the reel cleaned annually. Shimano is top notch stuff in any price range.

Cant beat a citica, crucial, chronarch for bait casting.

I dont care much for spinning reels due to the nasty stuff that happens to um after enough line twists. Im going to try a few SUPER high end shimano reels for finesse this year. Try out a core.

As far as the rod is concerned- you cant get a better rod for the money when your talking crucial- going to buy some cumaras this year too.

Shimano likes c's huh? Anthony is a diehard daiwa fan- I like the looks but question there longevity.
