i love shad fishing but haven't been for the hickory. when do they start to run.. i am told its coming up in the next week???????????

The Niantic River used to be loaded with them. Haven't seen them around in any numbers for a couple of years now, hopefully this season will be better.

I think they used to start to arrive some time in July.

i fish the ct river and i here weatherfield cove is a hot spot. i would love to grab some and run to shore and live line if i can ever find a good spot down there for the big bass... i live in east hartford so i dont get to the shore much for them..

ive fished them a few times in sept/oct in the niantic and did very well, probably 100 fish days, right near the blackhawk slip, shad darts and twister tails work well

i'm w persuader. the run out of the Niantic mouth is nuts. catch a few throw one on a live out into the mouths waiting in the mouth. Ont the outgoing tide in October or so

yea but they com up to the hartford area before that just not sure on the time they do it.
