I recently read in a field and stream about a technique refereed to as yo-yo'ing. The way it works is you flip your jig over a log, branch, etc. and let your line lay over it. You pull the jig up and down or shake it without lifting it over the wood. This supposedly allows you to be in the strike zone the entire time. Makes sense. Doesn't seem practical enough to go out and intentionally fish this way, but ever since I read the article I try the technique out on miss-casts that happen to go over branches, logs, etc. You can't tell very good from the video, but this cast went over one of the branches on the overhanging tree. I tried the technique and it paid off. It wasn't until I saw the tree start moving that I knew a fish picked it up! I've done this a few times already this year and I get so excited every time it works. Did anyone else read the article that I'm referring to or has anybody caught a fish this way? Thanks.

It's a great technique and is pretty much exactly what most of the pros are doing in heavy cover like thick mats and brush piles. Big line, big hook, big bait = big fish. I highly suggest using braid. Thanks for the report.
