Friday afternoon I arrived at the Mill River WTMA around 3.
As I worked my way upstream from the first bridge, I hit a number of spots and stretches that had enough depth. The lure I stuck with most of the time was an all white custom made inline spinner with a single hook white bucktail teaser.
One spot I've always enjoyed produced a 7" wild brown. The trout slammed that spinner!
One other spot was where I had what seemed to be a small native brookie carefully take the lure and travel with it before letting go.
Once I got to the second bridge, I walked down South Park Ave to the Aspetuck Land Trust trail and hit 3 usual spots there but no luck.
Hit the road around 5:15 |
