I went to Essex today and went fishing and caught so many white perch but when I filleted them I notice a green fluid sometimes. I wanted to know if the fish is still safe to eat. There was not too much of the liquid but a small amount. Does anyone know what it is? |

My guess is that you cut the gall bladder which is filled with bile. The gall bladder is a very small pouch located adjacent to the stomach. |

If it IS bile, it'll be godawful bitter.
Hey, Kyle, what were the white perch biting? Small jigs dragged on the bottom or nightcrawlers, perhaps? _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Yeah, the gallbladder guess sounds like it might be right. You may want to watch a video on filleting fish to not do that again, if it was the case. As peco said, that may make it not so tasty. Fish bile. Yummy. _________________ PB LMB: 4lb 13oz
