Finally!
Another slow day throwing hard plastic, spinnerbaits and the occasional jig, but bill landed this 28" pike (our first) on a rapala crankin' rap size 5 in shad. Just like everyone says, the fish hit within 10 feet of the boat and the fish inhaled the whole lure. The fish's color and teeth were especially impressive. Now I just need one for myself!
It's funny that we continue to buy new stuff for our tackle boxes (I just rec'd an spro bbz shad swim bait and a strike king spinnerbait) but all the nice fish we've caught on the river this year have been caught on crankin raps, rattlin rapalas or clackin cranks.

Just goes to show you how productive Rapala lures are, whether it be fresh, ice, or salt. |
