I decided to hit Wethersfield Cove for a bit at lunch today and throw the spinnerbait around a bit. Even though I work near there I've only fished it a couple of times with no luck. I was casting from shore and felt a huge tug on the line so I set the hook. I got the dreaded slack line and no more lure Mad Then the damn thing surfaced and thrashed to try and throw the hook and let me see how big it was. It was a nice sized pike SONOFAB!@#$

Needless to say, somewhere in Wethersfield cove there is a big pike swimming around with a super white strike king burner spinnerbait in the side of its face!!...and I need to go shopping.

Laughing I thought you'd like that. The good news is I stopped at Cabela's tonight and my new favorite spinnerbaits were on sale for $4.99. I bought out the white ones. Of course there were only 2 left. Cabela's must love these CTFT fishing reports. They sell a lot of tackle to the lurkers.

haha, lol, but the lurkers dont realize that they could have had ten different lures tied on, on that particular time and caught that fish, right place, right time for the most part IMO Being on the fish is the most important part, lure selection means nothing if your not casting your lures to hungry fish Wink

Totally agree Hila if it's on a fast retrieve. Lot's of rod bending energy produced. I must admit though, I'm pretty fond of the T-bone bass hit, from bottom to top on a frog in open water. It reminds me of the victim on the floaty that Jaws got in Martha's Vineyard bay. BOOM!!!!
