Fished the WET trail at Gardner last night with my buddy Todd. Let me just say the new ramp is awesome. Best ramp in the state as far as I'm concerned. Heaven forbid they make a ramp like that at Candlewood (Squantz) or Lilly. But the state figures "We'll put a state of the art ramp and parking facility at a 500 acre lake rather than a 5000 acre lake). Whatever. Anyway, we finished 3rd, good enought to win a few bucks. Had 7 lbs for 5 fish. All fish came in shallow (surprisingly). Caught fish on lizards, crankbaits and one on a fluke. Water temp was in the low 80's. Very breezy. Rain held off for us which was nice. Winners had just under 10 lbs with a 3 lb lunker.

We bailed before the wiegh in.... Needless to say a rough evening for us. We fished pretty deep (10-17foot drops) lost 2 smallies on the dropshot and my buddy landed are only keeper largie that went 1 14.
We did catch 2 walleye and quite a few LARGE sunfish. Talk about windy though. |

I have to agree what a nice ramp .If you get there early you dont have towalk a mile to your truck thats nice.Good job in the tourny.
