I only had time for 2 hours out on the water so i figured i'd hit my old faithful lake seems how it's fairly small and close by . I got on the water at 11:30 and was off at 1:30. The water was calm as glass the hole time out, cloudy skies, air temp around 50deg, and water temp 46deg. I started out with a green pumpkin mini craw on a 1/8oz ball jig head and on my first cast I let it sit on the bottom for about 10 sec and slowly picked up the tip of the rod and already had a fish on, it just pressure but it had that fishy sensation to it haha so i set the hook not really sure if it was a fish or not and all of a suddin it starts swimming to the side really had and finally after 3 jumps i had a decent 15in smallie in the boat. I was really suprized with it jumping in the really cold water. I threw that same rig for the rest of the outing and had several light bites but only managed to land one more bass, a 13in largemouth.
