Lots of people pass by, wave, honk, scream out the windows saying good luck and so on. They think us icefishermen are crazy!!!

A lot of those people probably think that you shouldn't be out there at all. City of Danbury Ordinance Sec. 21-16, entitled "Trespassing on, injuring reservoirs, damaging waterworks property" states:
Quote:
Every person who shall disturb, meddle with or fish in the waters of the reservoir, or skate or walk upon the ice of said reservoirs except with the express permission of the superintendent of public utilities, or shall trespass upon any part of the grounds connected therewith, except upon the walk, or shall willfully injure any pipe or other property used in connection with the waterworks shall, in addition to any penalty established pursuant to state law, be subject to a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00).

FYI. Wink

I have a Danbury Reservoir Fishing Permit. Razz

No you have to go to the Town Clerk at City Hall and ask for it and they give you a paper to sign and take down you Conservation ID and the paper you sign is your Permit. Then your done and free to fish Danbury Reservoirs.

That sounds like a clear violation of the First Amendment rights of out of town anglers. I just might have to sue Danbury.

Btw John the old owner of The Valley Angler (Got sold to new owned last month i think) said that in the spring the shallow end of that reservoir would be piled with bass and he told us to give it a try so unless he wants us to get fined then i think its fine to fish there.

Peco all you need is a reservoir permit which you can get at Danbury City Hall.

Was out there yesterday afternoon after setting up a few tip ups I drilled a hole right next to the hole these crappie were caught in and after maybe 10 minutes of light jigging and sitting i got a monster hit and started fighting a fish it was huge. I got it up to the hole to find a gigantic pickerel on my little jigging rap and as I got its head up in my hole and reached down to grab it to try to squeeze it through the 6inch hole if it fit it shook and bent my treble hook and took off just as my hand was about to touch it... 2 of the 3 hooks went from J's to L's. My dad saw how big it was and was awestruck at how big it was he only saw the mouth and eye. he and I estimated 4-5lbs easy. Just after that the ice cracked hard and the middle seemed to drop about 1/4 of an inch so Advent says. because he was jigging farther out to the middle. So we packed up and took off with a story and no fish. I need to get a bigger version of that jigging rap.
