I had fun at Lilli, today. The new State Boat Launch Facility on Main Street South in Bridgewater is really, really nice. The water is that pale green color we've been seeing at a lot of places. There are no lily pads at all and next to no weeds. Weird. The bite along the shoreline was very good in the pre-dawn hours and the drop shot bite in 15 to 25 feet of water was very good later in the day. 2-1/2 inch Gulp! Minnows worked great. In the full noontime sun, fishing for white perch, black crappie, sunnies and largemouth bass in the huge schools hiding in the shade underneath the bridge next to the ramp was a blast. Here's what was on the fish finder:

Long Meadow Pond on Long Meadow Rd in Middlebury. You have the potential for 5+ pound bass and the frogging should be getten good now. Heavy weeds but clear paths for kayaks and "No Pleasure Boat Traffic."

I wish! We pulled mostly white perch and black crappie out of the schools, and lots of 'em, but we also got a bluegill and a largemouth bass. We had a terrific multi-species day that included smallmouth bass, a channel catfish, a northern pike and, most exciting of all, a redbreast sunfish! _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Phil! Are you sure that was a Red Breast? The first one had a red breast. The forum can only handle so many gigawatts of traffic. Remember what happened the last time. LOL _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |
