Hit Remington Thursday starting around 6:30pm. I was hoping for it to be not as crowded as Wednesday. Found there to be no more than 10 people like Tuesday.
There was a steady 10 to 15mph south wind that was pushing lots of weeds into the area. High tide for Bridgeport was scheduled for 7:05pm.
The SXR-10 wasn't catching me fish for a while. I was getting clumps of weeds with it.
Took a break for a while by talking with another young fisherman who I became fishing buddies with. Also told him about the site.
After he left, later I got the Saltwater X-Rap stuck on rocks in front of me and couldn't get it out. Did catch 1 taylor with it.
After sunset is when the bite picked up for the lure people. I was using a flake blue Max Rap MXR-13 and hit another 4 taylors with it. Other lure fishermen weren't into the fish like me. One person was throwing a smaller Long A, another with a Rattle Trap, one with a Kroc, one with a smaller 4" plug, and another with a few different plugs. The person with a few different plugs hit 1 taylor on a glass ghost SXR-12 and the person with a small 4" plug hit 1 taylor.
Hit the road around 9:15pm.
Found out from the new fishing buddy that the bait the taylors have been spitting up are spearing, not tiny snappers. Did some Google research and found it was them. Current colors on minnow plugs and crankbaits are blue, white, and silver. |
