I just got a new load of plastic in from Bass Pro Shops. I went with their "tourny series" senko knock off's. I'm sure the fall rate isnt the same, but I'm also sure I dont fish that well that it matters. I got my two favorite colors....red shad and baby bass. Look's just like GY kinami but 6" not 5, and fatter. 16 to a pack, $4, lots of salt, twice as durable....actually tough to tear apart for a salt bait. I've got this informal tourny / outing this sunday and part of my plan is bigger bait, so these and 10" berkley power worms are gonna do some carolina rigging in deeper structure, while hopefully, the rest of the guys hit the lilys. And of course, I'll tow a big assed frog behind me out in open water. I'll let ya know how the worms acted. _________________ Dave..... I can be a pain in the bass. |

Not a bad price for a 16 pack? Good luck, let us know how they do. I've yet to really turn over to rubber this year. Hopefully soon before it gets too late. The crankbaits have just been working so well. _________________ Steve |

Isn't that funny Steve. I fish plastics almost exclusively, and do well, yet I havent thrown a single wacky rigged worm in my life. So many reports have people killing em on wacky, but I just dont fish it. You're having a great season fishing cranks, but I just use them to fan cast for activity. Some other guy swears by trolling, and another drop shot, and his buddy wont leave the shallow pads. I'm pretty convinced that comfort is the first factor that matters. Then you can expand with styles. I'm not saying you're gonna go get a pike on a nightcrawler and a bobber because thats what you're comfortable with. Just that comfort breeds confident fishing...and I think that's important. _________________ Dave..... I can be a pain in the bass. |

Very true Dave, well said. It's been all about comfort with me and many others for sure...
PS: Whatever attacks that nightcrawler, that will become the pike bait! _________________ Steve |

Wacky Rigs kick butt! They just attract all sizes fish which if the downfall...they aren't a big fish bait, where is this fishing outing thing? I got nothing to do Sunday and I want to use my yak maybe I can meet you there, not fish the tourny, but fish and learn a thing or two. _________________ You know it was a good day when your thumb is all scratched up. |

Williams pond in Lebanon Ryan. Way out in the northeast up by the casino area. 7 am kickoff. Not really a tourny, just an outing for paddle guys with a big fish pool. Very informal. 12 yaks attending so far. _________________ Dave..... I can be a pain in the bass. |

I've used the BPS "senko" worms. They are great and affordable. I have even used the 7 inch ones. They are nice and fat ! Since they are they store brand, they go on sale more often. _________________ When in doubt, rip their lips out! |
