Hi Michael,
Mill River is stocked
Go to the DEP site and then to the stocked waters list and maps.
Those TV reports don't give enough info.

Hi E,
They're stocking NOW!
The fish are so big and crowded in the tanks now at the hatchery, that they have to get them out.
Only so many people and trucks at the hatchery so they'll be stocking daily the waters. Exactly where and which day isn't reported, but they're doing it
Usually it takes 2 weeks or so to get the initial stockings in all listed trout waters.

Hi E,
Well I'm retired now and live here in Winsted, Ct.
Talk about fishing Narvana!
I'm no more than 20 + minutes ride from most ponds, lakes, and rivers up here in the NW corner.
Highland, Colebrook, Hogback, Howell's, Stillwater, West Hill, Burr, Park, Winchester, Farmington, Still, West Side, Bantam, Tyler, East & West Twin, Lakeville etc., etc., etc.
Best of all, the wife, just says "Have Fun" as long as she knows where I'll be at ....... NICE LADY!

DEEP never tells you WHEN they are stocking. They do list places they stock or have stocked. Every year most spots get fish starting in early March so put this in your memory bank. Some spots will get an additional stocking a few weeks after the opener as well. _________________ “Don't tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don't tell them where they know the fish.” Mark Twain

Yeah, they usually tell you which week they are stocking but not the day! _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Definitely a cool report. The two employees in waders in some of the ponds they showed are some of the hardest working guys I've met, period. Great group of guys and gals. |
