After fishing at Williams Pond in the morning, I stopped by Spring Pond with The Other Woman on my way home and fished from 5:00 pm to 6:45 pm. I caught a 17 inch largemouth bass in the south cove, but didn't get a photo of it. The slime covered weeds are so bad in there that I horsed it into the boat without playing it at all. After I removed the hook from its lip, it thrashed its way out of my hand. A frog can be pulled over the slime covered weeds, but it's so thick that there's no way a fish could tell it's there. I didn't see any surface feeding activity at all.
I guess that this is more of a warning than a report. Don't bother trying to fish at Spring Pond, unless you enjoy fishing in weeds are completely covered with pale green slime weed. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |
