My lunch hour got me two LMB. Nothing over 2.5lbs but both pretty chunky. All caught to the right of the boat launch with wacky orange senko and a cafeine shad in blue/white.
ALSO--- HUGE hornets nest inside the limb of a dead tree abut 20ft down the path to the left of the boat launch about 10 ft in the air. Hence all my fish were caught TO THE RIGHT of the launch lol. |

Theres a Dunkin Dounuts at the end of rte 3 with a big dirt lot next to it. There are stairs that lead down to the launch. i wouldn't try launching a boat though.
It's funny because I worked on rte 3 for years before I knew it was there. |

I heard there's a decent population of Northern Pike in this river, any truth to it?

You could launch at the Weselyan boat launch a.k.a The Club Restaurant, and go up the ct to the Matta, then follow it up. |

I don't think that you could launch a trailered boat at Harbor Park in Middletown. Well, you could, but I don't think that it's permitted. There's a concrete ramp, but there isn't an open driveway onto it and it's blocked by a floating dock that's used by the crew teams:

The Cromwell Outboard Association (COA) has a trailered boat launch ramp just north (i.e., upriver) of the mouth of the Mattabesset River on the Connecticut River, but it's only open to members. I know of at least one CTFishTalk member who is also a member of the COA. Here's a link to the COA's website:
