Mikeyinstfd from the site and I hit the spots along the Wepawaug River that my other buddy and I hit Friday. We got to our first destination around 10am.

I was sticking with a 6cm brown trout Flat Rap while Mike played around with a Berkley pink trout worm, yellow Power Bait, 6cm brook trout Flat Rap, and a Rooster Tail.

I caught a throw back rainbow and lost a nice rainbow on the jump. Plenty of hits and swipes too. Mike caught 1 brookie with the trout worm.

On our next stop, I hit a 14" 1 pound brown on a 6cm yellow perch Husky Jerk and a 15" pickerel on a 6cm glass minnow Husky Jerk. Had plenty of followers and swipes. Mike caught a 10" brookie with the trout worm and a throw back brookie. Mike had plenty of hits on the trout worm.

Once Mike had had it with fish playing with his trout worm and me no longer getting followers and hits, we headed over to the Pequonnock in Monroe.

The small pond we hit produced 2 crappie and 3 pickerel for me and 1 pickerel for Mike. Mike also lost a nice bass that was at least 3 1/2 or 4 pounds. I hit 1 crappie and 2 pickerel while playing topwater with a 7cm bleeding pearl Original Floater and got the other crappie and pickerel with the Husky Jerk. Mike caught his pickerel with a Rooster Tail and lost the bass with a 5cm silver Shallow Shad Rap.

We then hit the road around 4:30pm.

Here's a pic of the brown I caught. It also shows what the keeper browns and bows have looked like as for girth.

That mild winter did it for the trout. As the DEEP said, 20% bigger than what they should have been for the time of the year.

I've also noticed a difference in aggressiveness compared to the way they usually are.
