I did some bailing this morning and had some wet feet. I did manage to catch 8 nice bass between 2 and 4 pounds. Lost a few others. I got one on a topwater right off the bat. Then it got slow, nothing on a spinnerbait, or a jig. Usually a spinnerbait is a standby there, but not today. The other 7 came on a 6 inch Basstrix swimbait. These things have phenomenal action. I wish I ordered more. The bass have been mutilating these things. I have a triage set up, always keeping the best one on my hook. I will post a few pics in the gallery here later today. Scratch that, I just managed to erase my pics. from today. uggggggg

Nice fishing.

I've found medium diving crankbaits work well later in the year along the weedlines north and south of the ramp along the shore.

Last year I made it out a few times in September with a buddy and was hitting plenty of largemouths and yellows with some whites and crappie all with lures in Rapala's Shad Rap family. Colors were anything imitating a shad, herring, or perch.

We're shooting for Saturday early am! I wound up working yesterday. In two weeks I'll be off Tuesday if you want to hit it again.

PS! 6LB'er pulled from there today by a close friend. Saw the photo on an I Phone.
