Squantz is cold and deep. Bring the right tackle for that.

was at squantz boat launch/park this morning from shore for 2 hours tried my luck with all differant things and got nothing it was slow but the people that were already there said they had gotten a few smallies off black or dark spinner baits... few guys off the beach area with shinners and having no luck... slow day at squantz i guess.

On the other side of the causeway at the candlewood boat launch the parking lot was full with trucks and trailers.

That's good ole Squantz for ya... One day make you rich; next day feed you to the fishes.
But when you're on a good day there all hell can break loose!!!
One day there while trolling a crawler rig, I caught everything BUT a walleye there in a matter of 3 hours. But a real nice place to fish.

I am unsure about there BUT most of the places I fish or have driven by, the water level is back up CLOSE to where it was after winter.

The Candlewood Launch at Squanz is fine. We were there today. Really slow fishing.

we fished candlewood from 8-5 EXCEPT for when the water temps came up to (56) for about 2 hours IT WAS BRUTAL - the only fish we got were in that 2 hour stretch and those were on the beds! - the smallmouths have spawned and are gone or some are on the beds and LRGS are just not anywhere near ready to come up UNTIL the water temps come up! hopefully next week -- we still plan on squance this week-end! BUT it will be more of the same BRUTALLY SLOW fishing i am sure!
