OK don't know what i'm doing on this Shark post I'm a Tuna Fisherman !! But Here is a thresher from sunday. 50 fathoms, wt.58.9 degrees, bait herring. fish is about 73" (without whip) Measured on side of waterline. The second pic. is crappy because he/she rolled with head straight down. (my superior photography) . If the line looks big, it is 300#. . BTW he was released.

Grats on the thresher.
I am not sure i could release a thresher. It is the best tasting large fish i have ever had.It makes Mako, tuna and swordfish taste like bunker.
I know if we had boated the thresher we hooked up with he would be in my freezer. _________________ The King of Long Island Sound. |

Hey Mike, your bro feels the same way !! One reason is I don't need a 12 ft. shark on board when i'm Tuna fishing. Another is I don't have a HMS permit. . BTW I have never tried Thresher, maybe i would get a permit !! _________________ "I was so poor growing up that if I wasn't a BOY I'd have had nothing to play with"

How is the tuna fishing by the way any hookups? Or actually are you seeing any? _________________ Ladies and gentleman take my advice.... pull down your pants and slide on the ice. |

No we don't catch many threshers. Just once in a while along with Mako's, Fako mako's (porbeagles) and mostly Blue dogs. The Tuna fishing Sucks!!! the Chum fisheries is in the toilet. Dogfish everywhere. Can't keep a bait in the water even without Chummin. If you hunt Giants your screwed. On the up side there are a lot of 3 ft. and 4 ft. fish around with a few 5 ft. thrown in, So you must have guessed the answer about hook up. NO, NOTHING, ZIP, NADA. Sorry i'm loosing it here !!!! DAM DOGS !!!! _________________ "I was so poor growing up that if I wasn't a BOY I'd have had nothing to play with"
