I'm with the family, in that I can't understand how it happened, either. Swans have always given me a wide berth when I've been on the water in a kayak. One even left its clutch of eggs in the nest when I unknowingly approached it. I was surprised by this, after hearing many stories about aggressive swans. _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

I went to a pond in Ansonia years ago with my wife (then girlfriend" just walking around and 2 swans chased the heck out me. My wife was on the ground laughing so hard she was crying!!!! I was trying to run, those suckers are fast and was pecking me in the but and shoes as I was running. I could barely run from laughing myself although Ill admit I was freaked out also. Every time we see a goose or big bird like that now she breaks my chops!!! Had I had paddle though it would have been a different story!! _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Unfortunately, he might not have been wearing his PFD:
Quote: | Authorities said Hensley's employer told them that it's mandatory for all employees to wear a life vest. Police said a life vest was found inside the kayak, though it wasn't immediately clear if that was a spare. |
