Hi,
Just came over the Internet.
State of Maryland is offering a $200.00 Bounty gift card, thru Bass Pro Shop, for Snakeheads!
Seems that invasive species is now a serious problem there!

Hi,
Yeah! You just need to be able to distinguish the difference between a Snakehead and Bowfin.

Good going Seadog1!
A very LARGE sign should be posted to ensure the difference between the two fish, some of the pinheads I see out there really make me wonder about their intelligence level?
For example, how many times have I seen people calling skates "sting rays" at the shore. I've tried to explain to them that there are NO sting rays this far north and they still insist that they are
. Simply frustrating. Like I said "pinheads"! |

Now on another note, does anyone on here go fishing for bowfin intentionally? If so I'd be interested in going along if that would be ok.
I have gone to Scovill res quite often with no luck, but my wife got one about 16 inches there about 5 years ago, but notta one since. |

I've met plenty of park people and freshwater fishermen who get northern water snakes confused with southern water moccasins. |
