Caught 6 shad and a short fluke and a couple of schoolies in the harbor 5:30AM - drfited some lumps outside the harbor - thought it was a sure thing with the fresh bait, NADA for the first 2 hours - watched another guy land three bass 50yds away - all his fish were on live eels - I ended up with one fish on which broke the swivel when I engaged full drag - I like to run a swivel leadered off the 3 way when fishing shad, as they usually spin. Nice morning dead calm. I guess I'll try eels next time. (they will probably be on Shad  ) |

Glad to hear there were hickorys at least, the bassin at night has been good in our area lately,but I can't seem to find a legal fluke anywhere.I wish I had been out but the general has the boys and me building a wall this wk end--half done.Good luck next trip.

| I have to get out and do a night trip - the Shad are not easy to locate, I spend half of my time catching bait - especially the predawn "magic" period. |

DaveI - I have a boat at Old Harbor and fish all around Clinton/Westbrook. New to this site. Good Luck!

I am at Old Harbor also, on B dock the Stratos about 4 boats in, say hello if you see us there |

| I try to post reports from the Clinton/Westbrook harbor area after every trip - I'll even report skunks - I trailer from Haddam and launch at the Clinton Town dock - I have a 19 Maycraft CC with 115 Johnson. |
