Cross River NY has been hot - when the winds aren't howling! - TITICUS NY has also been VERY good! -- smallies / Largemouths and BIG BROWNS are willing to hit a BASS BAIT!

X-RAPS / TUBES / JIGS / spinnerbaits and some helgies are good choices - LIGHT LINE 6LB when you can - not a hard bite! WATCH YOUR LINE!

i grew up over there and fished many of the res cross river is my favorite and the BROOK is my second choice! -- get on the water right away SPRING is the best on the BROOK and THE BROOK IS one if NOT the best small mouth bodies of water of the group!

TUBES are the name of the game on the BROOK -- HAVE FUN!!! Laughing

Smallmouths are what we are after! Any tips as to the best locations? I'm not used to fishing such a large body of water...especially in a row boat.

not sure where you boat will be! BUT try this!

fish from 15 ft to shore - look for structure - rocks - rock walls from shore into water - sandy bottoms with tree layed down! and fish POINTS all around them!

1-bring a rod with 6lb test and fish tubes (salt and pepper) - smoke - black - and any of those with flakes

2- fish a rod with x-raps (medium size) gold and a silver - crank down - 4 twitches - STOP! count to 4 and repeat back to boat

3- spinner baits (white) and dull colors SLOW! - gold blades work the best!

AND don't rule out a floating repala or a jig - if you see a spot you like!

thats a starting point!
