Decided all these reports of fish all over the river were too plentiful to ignore.
Got down there around 11 and set up about 3/4 of the way to the end. Just planning on throwing sandworms on fish-finders, my friend and I casted as far as possible. I started the day with Gami circle octopus hooks for the worms (first time using them ever) and quickly realized they are worthless without a baitholder barb set on the shank. I was getting nibble after nibble for 2+ hrs when I decided to snell some of my 7/0 baitholder hooks I had been using last season for bunker chunks. The nibbles quickly stopped and turned into fish
5 total on the day. Largest topped out at 25" and 5 lbs. I forgot how much I love catching striped bass until I pulled that one out of the water!
I also can't ignore the end of the day when I returned to the Glastonbury Ferry Landing and hit this 10lb 4oz cat on the leftover sand worms!
EDIT: Resized for your viewing pleasure |

Nice, I was just thinking about that place and wondering when that dock starts turning on. Thanks for the update! _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Nice catfish!
Did you see any bait close to the docks? |

Good luck seeing anything in that water, looks like coffee with skim milk. Went down there tonight and got skunked. My buddy hit 2 schoolies (1 was 24 inches) and a rainbow...
Oh well... after the 11 I hit Monday afternoon, I was due for a reality check. |

Got down to the ferry landing tonight and the water cleared up CONSIDERABLY. Hoping that gets down river in the next couple days... I am still concerned with the water levels being so low... |
