Hey guys, first want to thank you again for all of your tips and help.
I read bass books and magazines constantly, but sometimes get my best tips from some of you guys!
So these pics are actually from 3 weeks ago, but I figured I should still share them.
I went to a backroad pond in the eastford area that I found last summer, and dropped my boat in, even though I had to bust through some thin ice here and there, most of the pond was open water.Water temp was 39 and fairly clear water.Fished from 2pm to 5pm.
I started throwing a 1/4oz blk/blue jig with a small craw trailer, and also worked a couple small plastic creatures on a carolina rig.Worked them for the first hour and a half around the few ledges and deep structure and cover the pond has to offer, but got nothing.
I then hit a 4ft deep flat, that usually contains lots of lilly pad groups, and started ripping and deadsticking a 4-1/2" baby bass, suspending, rapala jerk bait. After about three casts I felt a small "tic",Set the hook and felt the pulling of my first bass of the year... I was PUMPED! He hit 3-6 on the scale and measured 20".
The next hour I managed 3 more bass and a small perch. Two of the bass were near 2lbs but I never weighed em. Heres the pics
I also hit a nice chunky perch there just a couple days ago.Figured some of you guys might like this chunky little guy. Also hit him on the same jerk bait.
