I fished the Naugy today with no luck. Dont have a fly rod but I did let some flies roll down stream via waders with no luck.. That was after trying everything else I had that was legal!

I dont know either. I bought a pack of some fishing supplies last year and it came with some free flies and I kept them and figured what the hay. It was the first time trying out a pair of waders that a friend gave to me and they had a very small leak where the boot meets the pants. Ill have to try and fix that with some caulk or something. They are like brand new Cabelas waist highs!

We had a very good day at the mill by the hamden campus, I started off useing a vibrax bluefox spinner with many 10-12 inch followers. We moved down to the "spot" Were we had a 20-25 inch monster brown smaching a early cadis hatch, we came back the next day with no luck besides for me i cuaght 5 10-15 inchers in 2 weeks the whole river will heat up i think that place is my home.

if you are fly fishin this time of year, go with nymphs, leeches, and other rock or bottom dwelling critter patterns.

of course, a streamer always works...

I will try that. Do you have any suggestions where to fish for them with nymphs? near Glastonbury?

Hi,

Last few days, driving around, I've noticed that many streams are not running higher as they should be. Confused

Lack of snow and run-off! -> This could be very bad news for trout streams if we don't get sufficent spring rains. Evil or Very Mad

Near Glastonbury? Best bet would be the Roaring Brook river that runs the portland/ glastonbury line, under Rt 17. they stuff alot of trout in there...including tigers. read the book tho,,., I think that river has special limits and what not.

You can fish from shore. The problem is if you don't have any room for a backcast it is almost more work then fun. Fly selection is dependent on stream and season, your best bet is to frequent a local fly shop. Let me throw in my 2 cents, I think the easiest and funnest way to learn to flyfish is to practice on waters you already fish.
