First night and I hit a fish after dinner on the slammer. Not a big fish but a fish none the less. Topwater is slow and we pack it in by 9 30 with a few misses by semi larger fish.
Next morning- up at 5 and push the boat off shore and get to work in 12-14fow casting the slammer towards shore.... My brother gets hit on a popper in 20+ fow and lands a 2 11
I get a hit in 10fow and land a 2 5 on the slammer
10am roles around with a few small fish on the dropshot and I get my new pb for the year at 2 14 on the dropshot
Few king sized whites for dinner
Next morning I hit a chunker on the dropshot- no weight
New lake halfway through the day and I hit a solid keeper on the dropshot yet again.
Dad hits a good pickerel on the dropshot

Towing zack that night- had to pick him up on the other side of the lake when the wind hit 20+mph. (this lake is 3.5 miles long and 1.5miles wide, in the background is just a cove...)
Crankbait fish after that nights dinner
Zack loses a 5+ that evening on the popper- hog of a fish with a crappy hookset.
Next day dropshot
Zack scores a 2 12 on a rebel pop r in 25fow at 11 30am...... WTF
I score a solid fish on the mini
Fed a huge loon about 10 8in white perch
Score the biggest of the trip at 3 1 on the mini slammer
Good perch the next morning when I slept in
I watched my dad and brother lose 7 fish on the poppers this week that were all over 2pounds.... that bait has a horrible landing to hookup ratio. |
