Hi Nooby,
Everyone is asking that same question -> "and if they do know they are not telling" -> because every ice fisherman in the state would be heading there.
It would look like a traffic jam on a New York Thruway! 
Best I can tell you (because I sure don't) is to go look at a few waters and check for yourself.
