My brother in law loves Squantz! I hate it! There is good small mouth fishing. I always read about the Walleye but never ever saw anyone catch one. Went a month ago and caught a Yellow Perch. Left and went to Ball Pond. We caught 7 nice Brown Trout at 10 AM at Ball Pond.

I never get skunked at Squantz, and I have caught some of the biggest Walleyes of my life in Sqauntz Pond. However, they can be tricky. During the Spring, Summer, and Fall months, they can easily be caught anywhere from shore with crankbaits or jigs. You want guaranteed fish, spend the extra money on alewives. they usually tun on about an hour to half an hour before sunset, and the bite will last about 2 hours. after that, they seem to calm down until 2-3 am. they can be caught in the middle of the day too, but I usually focus my efforts on the trophy trout that this lake is full of. Swedish Pimples with a steady to fast retrieve usually kills them. Hope this helps.
