Went over to the river today to hit a couple of the coves today and launched out of Wethersfield Cove. Went with PikePERSUADER and a couple of friends. The current wasnt too bad, but the sun was brutal. Water temperature was in the high 60's with very light wind. We hit all 3 coves today and hit a handleful of LMB bass. Lunker of the day was about 2 lbs. Was hoping for some pike but it was definitely too hot. The water was murky BUT not as bad as it has been. As the weather gets cooler I am ready to hit them up again.

We threw senkos, spinners, chatterbaits, topwater lures, and some spoons. For the most part, each type of lure hit fish.

Thanks for the report. Even though I work right down the road from Wethersfield Cove I tend to head across the river to Keeney when I want to fish. Never had much luck from shore at Wethersfield Cove. Plus it always seems to be super windy there.

Yeah it can be windy. We hit White Oaks and Keeney that day. Need the weather to get cooler for the pike!

You need to check the tide tables. Or just paddle a kayak! Very Happy

when the rivers high like it is now you can easily get in and out, or hop off your boat and pull it with a rope if you have too

The water was high enough where I was able to troll right in. Luckily...
