Lots of open water at quaddick still! Fished from the bridge at the north end of the lake yesterday for a couple hours. kept one line out with a dead bait for pike... tried on the bottom, and then under a bobber... no luck. also fished my light setup with a little "blade dancer" spoon/swimbait combination, hoping to pickup some panfish for bait. had one good sized take that made a run under the ice and came unhooked. had one other take which i managed to land, a ~2 pound pickerel. pretty slow day but it felt good to land one more fish on open water before the new year! _________________ PB's:

Nice report, thanks. At least you're out there not getting skunked on December 27th! |

We still don't even have any real ice here at Hitchcock. Last year at this time, we were already out ice fishing on our lake in Mass where we came from. We had 7" of ice as well. Wierd weather this year I guess. Great job on getting out and fishing, might take my yak out on Hitchcock later in the afternoon tomorrow, if I feel like braving it out. |
